Nilesh Kulkarni, who was recently awarded the Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Award for the work undertaken by the International Institute of Sports Management (IISM), met with Minister of State for Youth and Sports Kiren Rijiju.
The Minister emphasised on the need for development of the sports ecosystem in the country to realise his grand vision of seeing India as among the top 10 Olympic medal winners in 2028.
Nilesh agreed with Rijiju’s view on a holistic outlook for development of sports fabric in the country. IISM has been working for over a decade on the supply side by offering trained & skilled professionals for the sports management industry. The Institute has also been conducting in depth study on various aspects related to sports development. IISM has published reports on “Sports Infrastructure” as also a knowledge report with FICCI on “Sports Development and Youth Engagement”.
The institute has also published research papers in the many areas of sports development in the country
