Bogey free Pranavi is Tied-29th in Riyadh
Indian golfer Pranavi Urs opened with a bogey-free 2-under 70, which placed her T-29 at the end of the first round of the Aramco Team Series presented by PIF – Riyadh.
Pranavi, who got into the draw late, is coming off a fair season, during which she has had four Top-10s, was Tied-15th in her home event, the Women’s Indian Open last week.
She started from the tenth and had one birdie on each side of the Riyadh Golf Course. Diksha Dagar was T-67 at 1-over 73 with three birdies and four bogeys as she also began on the tenth tee.

Rashid Khan lying tied third in Jakarta
Rashid Khan, who won the last of his two Asian Tour titles 10 years ago, put himself in the frame with 67-67 in the first two rounds of the BNI Indonesian Masters, a USD two million Asian Tour event that is part of The International Series.
Rashid at 10-under is tied third as Canadian Richard T. Lee (62-67; 15-under) opened up a three-shot lead with an action packed round of 67 that had nine birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey, that saw him drop three shots in the last two holes.
Apart from Rashid the other Indians to make the cut were the defending champion Gaganjeet Bhullar (70-71) and SSP Chawrasia (71-70) in Tied-57th place.
The Indians missing the cut were Yuvraj Sandhu, Karandeep Kochhar, S Chikkarangappa, Shiv Kapur, Varun Chopra, Ajeetesh Sandhu, Veer Ahlawat and Rahil Gangjee.

India to compete in 16-team ITTF Mixed Team World Cup
India will compete in the second edition of the ITTF Mixed Team World Cup for the Guoliang-Sörling Trophy along with 15 other teams.
The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) on Friday unveiled the elite 16-team line-up for the tournament scheduled to be held in Chengdu, China from December 1-8. The hosts China are the defending champions.
The other 14 teams to compete are — Australia, Canada, Chinese Taipei, Egypt, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Sweden and the United States of America (USA).
The tournament will have a three-stage format, with Stage 1 consisting of 16 teams divided into four groups of four.
“This comprehensive format, totalling 52 matches across all stages (24 in Stage 1, 24 in Stage 2, and 4 in Stage 3), guarantees that the eventual champions must demonstrate both consistency through the round-robin phases and excellence in the knockout stage,” said ITTF in a release.

Bengal Archery Academy archers shine
Bengal Archery Academy of Jhargram have clinched the Overall Team Championships, bagging 18 medals including four gold and eight silver at the 68th State School Games.
The Academy also emerged victorious in the men’s and women’s team championships, stated a release.
Twenty-three archers of the Academy have also made the 48 members’ West Bengal squad for the upcoming 68th National School Games Archery Competition in Nadiad, Gujarat, the statement added.
The archers include Sion Samant, Mohammed Kamran and Anjali Kumari.
West Bengal Sports Minister Aroop Biswas, extended congratulations to the officials, coaches, and support staff of the Academy and hoped they would bring more laurels at the national-level.

Laxmi stars in Mata Rukmani’s win against Government Girls School
Laxmi Kashyap scored three goals to help Mata Rukmani Government Senior Secondary School, Chhattisgarh, to a 5-0 victory over Government Girls School, Ghumanhera, in a super league match of the Charanjit Rai 30th Nehru girls hockey tournament at the Shivaji Stadium on Friday.
Sumani Kashyap and Parmeshwari Sodhi scored the other goals.

Bopanna and Ebden lose quarterfinals
Sixth seeds Wesley Koolhof and Nikola Mektic edged out third seeds Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden 7-6(13), 7-5 in the doubles quarterfinals of the €6,946,835 ATP Masters tennis tournament in Paris, France, on Friday.
The Indo -Aussie pair collected 180 ATP points and €47,580.
In the $60,000 ITF women’s event in Hamburg, Germany, Riya Bhatia made the doubles final with Lian Tran of Holland.
